The White House on Saturday released a series of unconventional political Valentine’s Day cards on social media. In a post on X captioned “Made just for you”, the White House shared a set of digitally styled cards that used political imagery and satire tied to key episodes from the current US presidency. One card showed detained former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro blindfolded and wearing a grey tracksuit, framed in red colour.

The image of Maduro was taken after his capture by US armed forces during a midnight military operation and showed him handcuffed and blindfolded. US special forces brought Maduro to New York in January following a coordinated operation that involved months of preparation and multiple units of the US military.

The photo with Maduro was paired with the message “You captured my heart.”Another card featured US President Donald Trump holding a document labeled “Executive Order 4547”, accompanied by the message “UR My Valentine.”

.

.

A third card featured the infamous snapshot of Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) “sipping margaritas” with alleged MS-13 gang member Kilmar Abrego Garcia in El Salvador. The image was framed inside a heart and carried the message: “My love for you is as strong as Democrats’ love for illegal aliens,” according to the New York Post.

.

.

The White House also shared a separate card featuring Greenland. It displayed a map of the Arctic island inside a heart, along with the line, “It’s time we define our situationship.” The reference alludes to longstanding interest by President Donald Trump and his aides in strategic discussions surrounding Greenland’s role in US foreign policy, an idea that has faced strong opposition from the territory’s residents and European leaders.

.

According to a previous report by the New York Post, the White House’s online posts and satirical messages are largely conceptualised by President Donald Trump himself, along with Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino and Deputy Communications Director Kaelan Dorr.
