French streamers Owen Cenazandotti, known online as Naruto, and Safine Hamadi have received suspended prison sentences for repeatedly attacking and humiliating Jean Pormanove during livestreams. A court in Nice, France, gave Naruto a two-year suspended sentence and a €15,000 fine, while Safine received an 18-month suspended sentence and a €5,000 fine. The court also banned both men from posting content online for six months. They will not go to prison unless they break the court’s rules or commit another offense.

Naruto and Safine avoid jail as court hands down suspended sentences

The case was about thousands of hours of livestreams made between 2023 and 2025. The broadcasts were first shown on Twitch and later on Kick.During the streams, Pormanove and another man, Stéphane G., known as Coudoux, were shown being treated violently. The broadcasts included people slapping, kicking, whipping and hitting them with different objects. They were also soaked with water, insulted and hit with paintball projectiles. Prosecutor Maud Marty described the broadcasts as a “system of human mistreatment.” She argued that violence had become the main part of the entertainment shown to viewers. Prosecutors had asked for stronger punishments. They wanted Naruto to receive one year of prison at home with electronic monitoring and a €30,000 fine. For Safine, prosecutors requested an 18-month suspended sentence and a €15,000 fine.Naruto defended the broadcasts by saying they were staged entertainment. He also said the group had done good things for many people and claimed they did not understand the harm being caused. Safine said he was “not proud” of his actions.

Jean Pormanove’s death brings more scrutiny to the streaming group

Jean Pormanove, whose real name was Raphaël Graven, died at the age of 46 during a long Kick livestream on August 18, 2025.However, the court case against Naruto and Safine was not about causing his death. An autopsy found no traumatic cause of death and no evidence that another person was responsible.Pormanove’s mother had also previously defended Naruto and Safine at her son’s funeral. She said they had given him a good life. Coudoux also refused to describe himself as a victim, saying the group had been friends and that what happened was part of their shared behavior. The case has continued to draw attention because members of the same Lokal streaming group later appeared again on Twitch. French authorities opened another investigation after new broadcasts allegedly showed violence. Police also seized computer equipment from the group’s streaming location. The streamers are also facing a separate investigation into their finances over claims that their earnings were not properly reported to tax authorities. For now, Naruto and Safine have avoided prison, but their suspended sentences mean they could face serious consequences if they reoffend or break the conditions set by the court.
