‘Vivek was born in Ohio, you in Albania…’ Comedian roasted for saying ‘I will not rest until Ramaswamy is deported’

'Vivek was born in Ohio, you in Albania...' Comedian roasted for saying 'I will not rest until Ramaswamy is deported'

Comedian got roasted on X after she said she wants to see Vivek Ramaswamy deported.

Comedian Leonarda Jonie, who is known for her offensive and racist comments, was roasted on social media after she said she will not rest until Vivek Ramaswamy is deported back to the country that he came from, describing India as “sh** hole”. Her rant was not only against the Ohio leader and the frontrunner to be Ohio Governor, but also for Ilhan Omar who is from Somalia. “They can tell us how lazy and racist Americans are while they die of dysentery,” Jonie wrote only to be told that Vivek Ramaswamy will never be deported, as he was born in Ohio and thus a citizen by birth, while Jonie was born in Albania. “im no fan of vivek but at least he was born here,” one wrote. “Vivek was born in Ohio was he not?” one asked the comedian. Jonie replied: “I don’t give a f**k”. “I am curious why we should deport Vivek back to Ohio. Doesn’t he already fly back to Ohio to visit his family and to campaign?” another wrote. Many people concluded that Jonie’s India-hatred stemmed from her dating history as she was rumored to be dating British -Indian actor Jaspal Binning and later broke up. There is, however, no official confirmation of this. “We understand your frustration. First, you got dumped and rejected by an Indian. Then, you got dumped by your Black ex. After all that rejection, plus your failed comedy career, you started channeling your frustration into racism even though you’re not white. It’s just a low-level coping mechanism. I get it. Low-key, your hate is actually entertaining. So please, never stop hating on us,” one wrote. The comment came as part of a deluge of anti-Indian hate speeches that took over social media platforms after Donald Trump announced to hike H-1B visa fee to retain jobs for Americans. While this move will impact all foreigners, India was targeted on social media platforms, particularly as India contributes a huge number of employees to the US tech fields. Vivek Ramaswamy created a major controversy last Christmas when he championed for an H-1B overhaul but explained why the US needs foreign talent in tech, and in doing so, he disparaged US education and culture for not prioritizing STEM.
