Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi slammed US and president Trump while asserting their own ‘strength'”We don’t see any reason why we should talk with Americans, because we were talking with them when they decided to attack us,” said Araghchi in a an interview with CBS.”There is no good experience talking with Americans,” he added.Further defending Iran he said, “We are stable and strong enough. We are only defending our people,” adding, “We never asked for a ceasefire, and we have never asked even for negotiation.”While addressing the disruptions around key trade of Strait of Hormuz the Tehran FM claimed countries are negotiating for safe passage. “I cannot mention any country in particular, but we have been approached by a number of countries who want to have a safe passage for their vessels,” he said.

This comes a day after Trump alleged Iran wanted a deal, but that he was not prepared to make one on current terms, without giving further details.Trump also cast doubt on whether Iran’s new supreme leader was “even alive.” He said he was “surprised” that Tehran chose to target other Middle Eastern countries following the joint US-Israeli military operation, and claimed American strikes on Kharg Island had “totally demolished” much of the island, adding that the US might strike it “a few more times just for fun”.
