The gaming grandmother said she started streaming again to raise money for a headstone for her late daughter, Brooke, who passed away in 2023. She said her daughter had serious medical problems and received a second kidney transplant in October 2022. According to the streamer, Brooke later developed lymphoma and passed away in July 2023 after facing several complications. GrannyGamingz also claimed the hospital treating Brooke failed to find the cancer early enough. She believes delays in treatment played a major role in her daughter’s death, though those claims have not been independently confirmed.After losing Brooke, the streamer said she never thought she would play Valorant again because her daughter had been her “gaming buddy.” For a long time, she stayed away from streaming and gaming because of the deep sadness she felt after the loss.However, she decided to return to streaming in November 2025 with one important goal. GrannyGamingz explained that every bit of money she earns from Twitch is being saved to pay for Brooke’s headstone.
