Sharjah has opened the doors to its Ghaith 6 charitable exhibition, turning Expo Al Dhaid into a one-stop relief hub where low-income families can buy brand-new essentials at symbolic prices and receive free medical screenings. Launched under the patronage of Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the event blends affordable shopping, health services and community workshops, aiming to support thousands of families with dignity, access and practical help all in one place.

What is ‘Ghaith 6’?

The Sharjah Charity Association has successfully launched the sixth edition of its highly anticipated charitable exhibition, aptly named “Ghaith 6.” Hosted at Expo Al Dhaid, this three-day event is designed to support low-income families across the Central Region by offering them access to crucial household goods and clothing at deeply discounted, symbolic prices. The exhibition was officially inaugurated by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Chairman of the Association’s Board of Directors. Officials, including Abdullah Sultan bin Khadem (Executive Director) and Dr. Mohammed bin Howaiden Al Ketbi (Director of the Al Dhaid branch), were present, praising the consistent support from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Ruler of Sharjah, for the emirate’s charitable initiatives.

What Ghaith 6 offers low-income families?

Ghaith 6 stocks brand-new items donated by benefactors, not second-hand goods, and sells them at symbolic rates to create a sustainable income stream for the charity while keeping prices accessible for families in need. The exhibition’s organisers say the initiative supports nearly 6,000 families through direct sales and related programmes, and includes workshops on weaving, textile crafts and basic printing techniques so visitors can learn skills while they shop.

Dates, timings and location

Ghaith 6 opened its doors on 17 November 2025 at Expo Al Dhaid in Sharjah, the dedicated exhibition venue operated under Expo Centre Sharjah in the Al Dhaid region. While organisers have not announced fixed daily hours, the event follows the venue’s regular exhibition schedule, typically operating through the day to allow families ample time to shop and access medical services. The location was chosen for its accessibility to surrounding communities and its capacity to host large charity-focused events, ensuring smooth visitor flow and easy reach for low-income families across Sharjah.

Free health services and medical camp

Alongside the marketplace, Sharjah Charity Association ran its 16th medical camp at Expo Al Dhaid to give families free health services. Screenings and consultations include general checkups, dental and eye exams, early breast-cancer screening, geriatric assessments, kidney and internal-medicine consultations and nutritional guidance. Organisers expect more than 500 families to benefit directly from these services.

How does the scheme reach people?

The exhibition is part of a wider Sharjah push to modernise charity giving and widen reach. Local partners such as the Sharjah Cooperative Society are creating easy donation channels, including point-of-sale donations at stores, and working with Sharjah Charity International to ensure donations are tracked and reach beneficiaries quickly. Expo Al Dhaid’s growing calendar of social and cultural events (from the Al Asayl and Adventure exhibitions to agriculture faiduring the exhibition.Ghaith 6 mixes immediate relief with long-term thinking: selling new donated goods at symbolic prices preserves recipients’ dignity while generating funds to support other charitable projects; the medical camp addresses health gaps that often compound poverty; and skills workshops offer practical chances for families to upskill. Together, these elements aim to reduce dependence and build a more sustainable safety net for the emirate’s vulnerable communities. Go to Source
