Two Indians arrested by ICE: One for attempted child abuse, another for $60,000 theft

Two Indians, Hemant Khann-Kumar (left) and Rinkeshkumar Kaushikbhai Patel, have been arrested by the ICE.

ICE published the list of arrests they made over the last weekend and it included two Indians: Hemant Khann-Kumar and Rinkeshkumar Kaushikbhai Patel. Hemant Khann-Kumar is a criminal, illegal alien from India, convicted for attempted lewd act upon a child in Contra Costa County, California, the agency said. On Patel, the agency said he was convicted of conspiracy to commit theft over $60,000 in Bradley County, Tennessee. The ICE said Patel was sentenced to six years but his sentence was suspended after just under a year, and then ICE took his custody. “ICE took custody of him from the Bradley County Jail and will hold him pending removal proceedings,” the agency said.Over the weekend, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested more criminal illegal aliens convicted for horrific crimes, including manslaughter with intent to cause serious physical injury, criminal sexual conduct on a person 13- to 15-years-old, and sexual battery, the agency said. “Under President Trump and Secretary Mullin, ICE never takes a day off,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. “This weekend, ICE arrested numerous murderers, pedophiles, sex criminals, violent assailants, drug traffickers, and fraudsters. “Thank you to our ICE law enforcement for arresting these criminals from our communities. ICE is nice.”Others arrested over the weekend were Farhan Ahmed, for Pakistan, convicted for first-degree manslaughter with intent to cause serious physical injury in Queens, New York.

What is ICE detainer? What happens next?

ICE detainer is a request from the agency to the local law enforcement to notify that these people are in the country illegally, and ICE will take custody after they face justice to remove them. ICE is notified before such criminals are released. After ICE takes custody, the persons may be placed in immigration detention and face deportation proceedings.
