Shah Rukh Khan’s Delhi home has reportedly come back into the spotlight for a special reason. According to reports, the superstar has acquired the remaining floors of the Panchsheel Park residence where he and Gauri Khan began their married life, making him the sole owner of the property.A Bollywood Hungama report claims Shah Rukh, who already owned the basement and first floor, has now purchased the second and third floors for approximately Rs 37 crore. With the latest acquisition, the actor reportedly now owns the entire house, a property that holds immense sentimental value for the Khan family.
A home full of memories
Spread across a 1,200-square-yard plot in South Delhi’s upscale Panchsheel Park, the residence is much more than a luxury property. It is where Shah Rukh and Gauri lived before the actor moved to Mumbai to chase his Bollywood dreams.Over the years, Gauri Khan has often spoken about her deep emotional connection with the house, calling it one of the most personal projects she has ever designed.In an earlier interview with iDiva, Gauri said, “Our Delhi home is almost 20 years old.”
Explaining why the house means so much to her, she added, “As many know I am from Delhi and have lived a major part of my life here, so I thought it would be a great idea to buy and design a home close to my mom’s home. That was the idea behind it, to have all our memories under one roof.”She said the house became a place where the family’s memories from different phases of life came together.
Gauri’s favourite corner: The nostalgia wall
One of Gauri’s favourite spots in the house is what she calls the “nostalgia wall.””When I walk into that home, every corner that I look at, it is full of memories,” she had shared.The wall features keepsakes collected over the years, including Suhana Khan’s makeup brushes, Aryan Khan’s badminton racket, AbRam Khan’s first birthday gift, Shah Rukh’s artwork, postcards and gifts exchanged between the couple.”So that is my favourite corner,” Gauri said.
A house designed for comfort
Known for designing homes for several celebrities, Gauri has always said that comfort matters more than luxury when creating a living space.”One’s home should reflect their personality. A home is where you are truly yourself,” she had said, adding that she likes spaces to be “clean, comfortable, green and airy with lots of natural light.”
She also revealed that among all the projects she has worked on, her Delhi home remains one of her favourites because of its emotional value.”I could say that my Delhi home is one of my favourite projects to have worked on. It has a very sentimental pull,” she had said. Go to Source
