Shirley Raines, widely known as Ms. Shirley and the founder and CEO of the nonprofit Beauty 2 the Streetz, has died at the age of 58. Raines became popular on TikTok and other social media platforms for documenting her efforts to help unhoused communities in Los Angeles and Nevada. Her work earned her national recognition, including CNN’s 2021 Hero of the Year and the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Social Media Personality in 2025.Raines was found dead on Tuesday night in her Henderson, Nevada home during a wellness check, according to reports. Her twin sister Sheila said she had been healthy and was not taking medication. The family is awaiting autopsy results, but no foul play is suspected.
