Qatar’s Amir calls for nationwide rain seeking prayer on November 13

In response to the need for rainfall, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani has called for a special Istisqa prayer, a traditional rain-seeking ritual, to be observed across Qatar on Thursday morning, November 13, 2025. The Amir will personally lead the prayer alongside worshipers at Lusail prayer ground and has urged all residents to participate.

Nationwide Istisqa prayer to be held

His Highness the Amir has directed that the Istisqa prayer be performed in all parts of the country on Thursday morning. The prayer, rooted in Islamic tradition, is a supplication to Allah the Almighty for rain, reflecting both spiritual devotion and the importance of rainfall for communities.Residents and citizens across Qatar are being encouraged to take part in the prayer at local mosques and prayer grounds. The call emphasizes unity in seeking divine blessings for rainfall and highlights the role of community participation in this spiritual observance.

Amir to lead the prayer at Lusail

The Amir will personally lead the Istisqa prayer at Lusail prayer ground. Worshipers are expected to gather in large numbers to join him in this important ritual. By attending the prayer, residents can participate in a tradition that underscores collective spiritual responsibility and devotion.
