‘Not even a limp’: Row over DHS claiming ICE agent was ‘hospitalised’ after getting hit by Renee Good’s car

'Not even a limp': Row over DHS claiming ICE agent was 'hospitalised' after getting hit by Renee Good's car

A row erupted over the actions of a US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent who fatally shot a woman in Minneapolis, Minnesota, after the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) claimed the officer was hospitalised following a collision with her car. 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good was a US citizen and a mother of 3 was shot dead during a federal enforcement operation. She was in her vehicle when ICE agents approached. Video shows officers near her SUV before one fired multiple shots, striking her. She was pronounced dead at the hospital. The agent who shot Good was seen walking around the crime scene moments after the incident in videos shared online. A woman can be seen shouting “shame, shame” at the officer as he walks away. The agent is not named yet and had his face covered in most clips. DHS secretary Kristi Noem said Good had attempted to ram the agents by accelerating towards them, forcing one of the officers to fire in self-defence. Noem called Good’s actions as an act of “domestic terrorism.”The Trump staff claimed that the agent suffered injuries and had to be treated in a hospital: “The officer was hit by the vehicle. She hit him. He went to the hospital. A doctor did treat him. He has been released, but he’s going to spend some time with his family.”US President Donald Trump doubled down on Truth Social and said the woman was inspired by left-politics and wanted to harm the authorities: “The woman screaming was, obviously, a professional agitator, and the woman driving the car was very disorderly, obstructing and resisting, who then violently, willfully, and viciously ran over the ICE Officer, who seems to have shot her in self-defense. Based on the attached clip, it is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital.”However, Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara told CNN that no one was injured other than Good. Mayor Jacob Frey, governor Tim Walz, and other Dem leaders rejected Noem’s claim and called for the Minnesota National Guard to be deployed against ICE agents.
