‘No anaesthesia for MAGA’: Florida nurse refuses to treat Republicans, sparks calls for suspension

A Florida nurse named Erik Martindale has stirred up a storm on social media after declaring on Facebook that he would deny anesthesia to MAGA supporters. His bold statement has sparked outrage and prompted calls for the revocation of his nursing license. In a twist, Martindale later claimed his social media accounts had been compromised.

A Florida nurse is going viral online for his recent post claiming he will not administer anaesthesia to MAGA members during any surgeries or procedures, leading to massive online backlash and calls for his suspension. Erik Martindale, a registered nurse in Florida took to Facebook to announce that he will not perform anaesthesia for any medical procedures for MAGA. The medical professional described it as his right and ethical oath, adding that he owns all of his businesses and can refuse anyone.

Florida Nurse Fired After Shocking TikTok Rant Targeting Karoline Leavitt Goes Viral | WATCH

In his post Martindale wrote, “I will not perform anaesthesia for any surgeries or procedures for MAGA. It is my right, it is my ethical oath and I stand behind my education. I own all of my businesses and I can refuse anyone!” while also sharing a close-up image of himself in his nurse uniform. The University of Miami graduate later removed the post from his account and went on to make another one claiming that his Facebook and Instagram accounts had been hacked. “My FB, FB Messenger and IG have been hacked,” he wrote in a Facebook post.

Calls for suspension

Medical professionals are expected to help treat all kinds of patients irrespective of their backgrounds and affiliations and are trusted to do so. Martindale’s post of rejecting anaesthetic help to patients because of their alignment with Republicans has enraged many on the internet, sparking calls for suspension of his license. “He needs to lose his job and license,” wrote one on X. “This is insane. How is there THIS kind of political divide in our time where doctors are refusing to give proper treatment to opposing parties. Is this actually for real?,” added another.

Anti-ICE Americans

This comes after Lexie Lawler, a Florida nurse was fired for posting a TikTok clip wishing serious injuries including a 4th degree tear to pregnant White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. Calls for her suspension led to her termination from Baptist Health Boca Raton Regional Hospital. The nurses’ statements add to the growing tension against ICE in the country. On Friday, a marching protest against the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement took place in Minneapolis with a work stoppage across Minnesota. Numerous eateries in the state closed their doors in support of the anti-ICE protesters yet distributed free snacks to them as a sign of solidarity. Situations in Minnesota have been extremely threatening ever since the beginning of 2026. After Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old mother of three was fatally shot by an ICE agent in her car, the officials recently shot dead an ICU nurse, Alex Pretti. Additionally, photos of ICE agents manhandling protestors and detaining children have raised even more uproar against their authority and existence in the state, leading to calls for their removal even by state governor Tim Walz.
