Netanyahu speaks at UN: Many delegations walk out- what Israel PM said

‘Stop Now’: Trump Defies Netanyahu, Says No to Israel’s West Bank Annexation | Watch

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu speaks during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Friday

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu maintained his stance on continuing military action against Hamas in Gaza, at the UN General Assembly on Friday, despite facing increasing international isolation.Claiming that his country has to “finish the job”, Netanyahu said, “Western leaders may have buckled under the pressure,” adding, “And I guarantee you one thing: Israel won’t.” Further responding to recent decisions by some countries to recognize Palestinian statehood, Netanyahu added, “Your disgraceful decision will encourage terrorism against Jews and innocent people everywhere.” His speech was marked by a significant walkout of delegates from multiple nations. The US delegation remained present, though representation from major powers was notably junior-level, including those from the United States and United Kingdom.”Anti-semitism dies hard. In fact, it doesn’t die at all,” Netanyahu stated, continuing his stance of accusing critics. He also presented a map labelled “THE CURSE” and wore a hostages pin featuring a QR code linking to information about October 7, matching those worn by his delegation. Meanwhile, the Israel PM’s office announced that they are broadcasting Netanyahu’s speech to Gaza using loudspeakers and controlling the phones of residents there. In his direct address with the help of live broadcast, “The PM appealed to the residents of Gaza and made it clear that the war could end immediately upon the return of the hostages, the disarming of Hamas and the demilitarization of the Strip. PM Netanyahu stressed that whoever does so will live while those who do not will be hunted,” according to Israeli PM’s office statement, given on X.Netanyahu faces multiple challenges, including allegations of war crimes and mounting pressure to cease hostilities. Recent developments include several nations’ recognition of Palestinian statehood, potential EU sanctions, and ongoing legal scrutiny from international courts.International opposition to Netanyahu’s approach has intensified. While nations condemned Hamas’s 2023 attack that resulted in 1,200 Israeli deaths and 251 hostages, many are calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, where Israeli operations have caused significant Palestinian casualties and displacement.US President Donald Trump, whilst maintaining support for Israel, indicated limitations by opposing West Bank annexation. Meanwhile, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas had addressed the assembly via video, welcoming international recognition of Palestinian statehood.
