Massive mail theft in Canada: Details of 344 charges against 8 Indian-origin men

Eight Indian-origin men have been arrested for massive mail theft in Canada. They stole items worth $400k from residents’ mailboxes.

Mail theft is a common crime in Canada around the traditional holiday season when people receive gifts through Canada Post. Eight Punjabi men have been arrested in a joint investigation of the Peel and Hamilton Police and the Canada Post in an investigation into a mail theft of $400k worth of mails, including gift cards. A total of 465 pieces of stolen mail have been recovered from the eight accused, including 255 checks, 182 credit cards, 35 government identifications and 20 gift cards. Police said as part of their joint investigation, search warrants were executed on September 8 and 9 at multiple residences in Mississauga, specifically in the areas of Rhinebank Street and Brandon Gate Drive, as well as Dwiggin Avenue and Kittridge Drive. In this raid, the 465 pieces of stolen mail were found.
