Four people were injured in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles’ Winnetka neighbourhood on Sunday night, prompting a large police response and road closures in the area.According to NBC Los Angeles, the shooting occurred near Oso Avenue and Saticoy Street. Multiple victims were transported to a hospital, though their conditions remain unclear. The Los Angeles Police Department’s Topanga Division confirmed that the attack appeared to be a drive-by shooting.As per CBS News, the suspects drove by in an unknown vehicle when a passenger opened fire near the intersection around 9:48 pm (local time). Police said all victims were “conscious and breathing” when taken to a local hospital, but their exact conditions were not immediately known. No details regarding the suspect or possible motive have been released.As per ABC7 Los Angeles, footage of the active crime scene at around 11 pm (local time) showed several officers seen investigating. The stretch of Saticoy Street between Mason and Oso Avenue was temporarily closed to traffic as authorities examined evidence.A witness, Quincy Mendoza, described the chaotic moments that followed the gunfire. “I was just having dinner with my family. We heard the gate open, so the door was open, and out of nowhere, you hear four gunshots, just went off out of nowhere. And then instantly, you hear people scream and yell. They’re asking for help, they’re pleading for help,” Mendoza said, as quoted by ABC7 Los Angeles.No arrests have been made so far, and police continue to search for the gunman. Investigators have urged anyone with information to contact the LAPD Topanga Division.
