Jessica Daugirdas, a Brazilian social media influencer known for sharing her cancer journey online, has died at the age of 35. Her family confirmed the news on her official Instagram account on January 25. Jessica had been living with colorectal cancer for nearly three years and had openly documented her health battle to help and inspire others. Her death came just days after her sister shared that Jessica had been hospitalized with a severe case of sepsis.In their announcement, Jessica’s family said she fought until the very end with strength, faith, and courage. Over the years, Jessica built a strong and caring online community by speaking honestly about pain, fear, and hope. Her story reached thousands of people across Instagram and TikTok, where she had more than 100,000 followers. For many, Jessica was not just an influencer but a symbol of bravery during illness.

Jessica Daugirdas’ cancer journey and final days shared by her family

Jessica Daugirdas revealed in March 2025 that she had been diagnosed with colorectal cancer. From that moment, she chose to share her journey online. She spoke about her treatments, her good days, and her hardest days in very simple and real words. Many followers said her honesty helped them feel less alone.On January 25, her family shared a message in Portuguese on her Instagram page. They wrote, “It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Jessica. God, in His infinite wisdom, has taken our warrior to be with Him, after she fought bravely until the end, with strength, faith and courage.”They ended the message with a Bible verse, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7).Just five days earlier, on January 21, Jessica’s sister, Gabi Daugirdas, updated followers about Jessica’s health. She wrote, “Jessica is still hospitalized in the semi-intensive care unit due to a serious case of sepsis. She continues to receive treatment, is being well cared for by the medical team, and is closely monitored by her family.” Gabi also explained that Jessica was on many medicines and was too weak to use her phone.During her journey, Jessica spoke openly about surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and living with an ostomy bag. In a December 28, 2023 post, she called that year the hardest of her life. She also shared that the biggest lesson cancer taught her was learning to depend on others. She once wrote, “There were days when I needed someone even to help me get dressed.”In a March 2025 video, Jessica explained how doctors found her cancer after she noticed constipation and blood in her stool.
