Jeffrey Epstein knew about Trump’s ‘childlike’ pardon plans: ‘He loves showing the power that he has,’ says author

Late pedophile Jeffrey Epstein once warned that Donald Trump would exploit his power of presidential pardon if he won the White House, according to Trump biographer and author Michael Wolff. Speaking on the Inside Trump’s Head podcast, Wolff said Epstein’s prediction about his former friend and current POTUS has somehow come true.“Jeffrey Epstein had a kind of riff about this,” Wolff told co-host Joanna Coles, explaining that even before Trump was elected, Epstein knew the MAGA chief would just use the executive power of pardoning to meet his own favour.Wolff said he had a conversation with Epstein about how Trump would misuse the presidential power because he enjoyed holding leverage over others. “He loves having this kind of thing. He loves showing the power that he has,” Epstein told Wolff. He added that Trump would use his powers “in a childlike way,” Wolff said.Since returning to the White House in January this year, Trump has pardoned more than 1,500 people convicted in January 6 Capitol riots. Trump has even left the door open to pardoning Epstein’s right-hand woman, Ghislaine Maxwell, prompting speculation about possible deals to protect himself. On Monday, Trump granted clemency to former Honduran President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who was sentenced last year to 45 years in prison for drug trafficking and firearms offences. Wolff said the pardon was particularly striking. “This is not a white-collar crime. This is a criminal who is not only an egregious drug smuggler, but it’s an administration that’s full of pride about its ability to stop drug smuggling,” he said. Wolff criticised Trump’s overall approach to pardons. “In the case of Trump’s pardons, that’s seldom the case. These people have done the deed and Trump has decided for a variety of reasons—it was a political prosecution—some fig leaf rationale. The real reason is that these people become part of his structural support base.” He added that obtaining a pardon typically requires money and connections. In October, Trump pardoned crypto billionaire Changpeng “CZ” Zhao after Binance, his company, helped enrich the Trump family and hired lobbying firms to push for clemency. The White House dismissed Wolff’s claims. Wolff himself is under scrutiny for his association with Epstein, according to newly released emails last month by the House committee.
