'It's not nice': Donald Trump says US has 'other way' to deal with Iran

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday said he has to decide between making a deal with Iran or doing it “the other way”, which he remarked would not be “nice.”He added that he would prefer to deal with Iran “the nice way.””Now I have to make a determination: Do we sign a deal, or do we do it the… the other way? And the other way is not nice,” Trump told the New York Post. The US leader was then asked what this “other way” would achieve. He replied: “Certainty… It would be over. There wouldn’t be any b******t. There wouldn’t be any talking. There wouldn’t be any delays. But I’d rather do it the nice way… from a humanitarian standpoint.” The reporter then asked Trump if all this could be achieved with just bombing. In response, he stated: “Yeah, you don’t have to. We don’t need boots on the ground. We wiped out much of their military with just bombing. We didn’t put anybody on the ground. You don’t want to do that if you can avoid it. You are so far away.”The Republican leader’s remarks came on a day when Iran struck Kuwait’s main international airport, targeting a key US ally, amid a ceasefire that is already under strain. In retaliation for the US-Israeli strikes on Iran in late February that triggered the Middle East conflict, the Islamic Republic has repeatedly targeted Washington’s allies across the region. The US-Iran ceasefire has been in place since April 8.The truce was announced a day after Trump wrote in a Truth Social post that a “whole civilisation will die tonight”, sparking controversy.
