“It was to garner sympathy”: Kaceytron publicly apologizes to Ethan and Hila Klein as lawsuit ends, while calling out HasanAbi’s lack of support

Twitch streamer Kacey “Kaceytron” has issued a lengthy, highly personal apology following the settlement of her copyright lawsuit against Ethan and his wife, Hila Klein. In an eight-minute video shared on X on December 2, the streamer took responsibility for the infringement situation and also opened up about learning the importance of copyright protection. Her apologetic tone, rather than a defensive stance, marked a noticeable shift from her earlier public attitude towards the situation. Additionally, Kaceytron promised to respect and uphold the intellectual property rights of other creators, yet later revealed a surprising lack of support from Hasan Piker, after he had promised to support her.

Kaceytron reflects on copyright accountability, personal mistakes, and feeling abandoned by HasanAbi

In her video, Kaceytron directly admitted that her earlier statement claiming that Klein’s lawsuit was “frivolous” and rooted in misogyny was a calculated defensive tactic. In her words, “it was to garner sympathy, protect my reputation, and retaliate against the Kleins.” The Twitch steamer came pretty clean about how her words and actions needlessly escalated the dispute. She also opened up about the lessons learned during this emotionally and financially troubling time due to the lawsuit. She admitted to developing a “greater understanding of copyright, protection, people’s copyrights, and the importance of protecting copyrights in the online content creation community”. However, one of the most shocking revelations was about Hasan Piker. Kaceytron stressed that “I did not receive any support, financial or otherwise, from Hasan Piker…” She further added that Piker never contacted her privately during her trying time, despite giving the impression that he would help her. According to her, his hypocrisy and lack of any support were hurtful. The streamer also revealed another regretful and unjustifiable decision to ‘weaponise’ the death of fellow streamer Asmongold’s mother during past conflicts. Calling it “inexcusable,” she acknowledged the harm it caused and assured her fans that she would be more mindful going forward. As of now, HasanAbi has not commented on her claims. Also read: “Let’s not be nasty”: Ethan Klein publicly forgives Kaceytron after lawsuit battle
