Iran Supreme Leader’s message to US: Mojtaba Khamenei calls Trump’s signature worthless, issues new warning

Iran Supreme Leader's message to US: Mojtaba Khamenei calls Trump's signature worthless, issues new warning

He warned US of “unforgettable lessons”

Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei on Saturday warned the United States of “unforgettable lessons” if it continued attacking the Islamic Republic, while declaring that US President Donald Trump’s signature was “worthless and invalid.”The written statement, read out on Iranian state television, came hours after Tehran announced it was suspending its commitments under the interim agreement signed about a month ago, as the United States and Iran continued exchanging strikes on military and infrastructure targets. “Now that the American enemy is seeking to escalate the conflict thereby incurring even heavier costs and further humiliation, it should know that the noble nation of Iran and the Resistance Front have unforgettable lessons in store for it,” he said.Khamenei further accused Washington of violating the agreement, saying the “US president’s signature is ‘worthless and invalid'”. “The repeated breaches of the agreement by the Great Satan [the US] regarding the MOU signed by the Presidents of Iran and the US have once again laid bare a fundamental truth: the signature of the US President is utterly worthless and devoid of credibility,” he said.”Today, the Great Satan has once again revealed its true, unmasked face, so that this dark episode of criminality and broken promises serves as yet another indisputable testament to the US’s dishonesty, irrationality, unreliability, and malicious nature,” he added. He also said that Iran would not respond alone and that the “Axis of Resistance” would also act against what he described as American aggression.Further praising the Iranian forces, he added, “The valor of the Islamic fighters and the honor of the courageous people in the southern regions in recent days are examples of this [Iranian nation’s unforgettable lessons for American enemy].”The statement marked Khamenei’s first public message since the conflict re-escalated and came amid growing uncertainty over diplomatic efforts aimed at ending the fighting.Earlier on Saturday, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said Tehran had suspended its commitments under the interim agreement, accusing Washington of breaching the deal.”The US has violated and suspended all its commitments within the framework of the Islamabad MoU,” Gharibabadi said.He added that Iran had also suspended implementation of the agreement and was “busy defending the country.”The agreement, signed about a month ago, had been intended as a stepping stone towards ending the conflict, but Tehran’s announcement signalled a further collapse in diplomatic efforts. The statement came as the conflict entered another week, with the United States carrying out a seventh consecutive night of strikes on Iranian military and infrastructure targets, while Iran expanded attacks on US allies in the Gulf. Kuwait reported damage to an oil facility and a desalination plant, and both sides continued to exchange strikes around the strategic Strait of Hormuz, raising concerns over regional security and global energy supplies.
