Indian men in Canada praised for saving distressed woman from harasser at cricket ground in viral video

A group of Indian-origin men saved a woman from a stalker in a viral video from Canada.

A video of a group of Indian men saving a woman from a harasser at a cricket ground in British Columbia, Canada, is winning hearts on social media for salvaging the reputation of Indians abroad. In the recent past, all viral videos involving Indians made news for the wrong reasons, as they portrayed Indians as a brazen community littering at tourist spots, dancing at airports, etc. As this video from Canada went viral, Indians commented that people should share this video too to show the world what Indians truly are.In the video, a group of Indian-origin men could be seen speaking to a man who was allegedly harassing a woman at the cricket ground where these Indian men were playing. The woman was walking her dog and looked distressed. The group of Indian men intervened, made a protective shield around the woman and asked the man to stay away. ‘Don’t touch me,” the man could be heard screaming. The alleged stalker said he just said ‘hello’ to the woman and nothing else. The men told him that it was not needed if he did not know the woman. They said they already got the video and would call the police. Eventually the man, sipping his coffee, left the place and asked them whether the ground was their property. The men told the harasser that it was a private ground to play cricket. Some reports claimed that players were from the Prince George Cricket Club.”Let’s not amplify only the negative. Share the positive, celebrate good deeds, and help create a more balanced picture of our communities. Every act of kindness matters, and every positive story deserves to be seen,” one wrote. Many users noted how peacefully the situation was resolved — with no harsh words, as the Indian men did not attack the stalker and even replied to his queries. “Nobody’s touching you,” the men told the stalker when he refused to leave and said he would watch the game.
