‘Made in India: A Titan Story’: Meet the cast

Meet the 'Made in India: A Titan Story' cast: Naseeruddin Shah as J.R.D. Tata to Jim Sarbh as Xerxes Desai

The revolutionary historical drama about the making of India’s first world-class quartz watch at a time when the people were depicted as ‘laborers’ by Europeans, and showcasing that the time in India is not defined by failure – ‘Made in India: A Titan Story’ has been released. Traversing through the biographical journey of the visionaries who took steps of fortune and created a homegrown brand, the series revolves around J.R.D. Tata and Xerxes Desai.Despite bureaucratic hurdles and international eyeroles, the legendary industrialists set out on an impossible journey to create watches, despite the goods being dominated by other countries. Let’s take a look at the characters of ‘Made in India: A Titan Story,’ the series that released on June 3, 2026.

Naseeruddin Shah as J.R.D. Tata

Shah

Naseeruddin Shah plays the role of the renowned industrialist J.R.D Tata, who reflects ambition, passion, and confidence to achieve with an entrepreneurial spirit. “What fascinated me about JRD Tata was not just his vision, but the quiet confidence with which he inspired people to dream bigger than they thought possible. He had an extraordinary ability to spot potential and nurture it with trust, something that feels increasingly rare. Made in India: A Titan Story is not merely about building a brand; it is about people, belief, and the courage to back an idea when success is still uncertain,” he said, while talking about the character according to Amazon MX Player. From tackling resistance to encouraging the Make in India concept with a positive mindset and calm demeanor, the character reflects the stern leadership of an elegant business empire.

Jim Sarbh as Xerxes Desai

Sarbh

Jim Sarbh plays the role of the acclaimed industrialist Xerxes Desai, who was the pioneering force behind the creation of the watch. “Xerxes Desai struck me as someone who was quietly rebellious, someone unafraid to challenge convention and imagine what didn’t yet exist. What I love about Made in India: A Titan Story is that while it speaks of ambition and scale, at its core, it’s deeply human, about persistence, instinct, and believing in an idea long before anyone else does,” he said, as per the OTT platform.Talking about his look for the series, Sarbh revealed that he cut his hair to create an authentic structure. “No wig! I had to shave my head every morning,” he exclaimed while talking to Hindustan Times. Navigating how he tackled his challenges, he continued, “The regular life was a bit tough. Hats, all the time. If you choose to go bald, that’s one thing. Then you shave it all off and rock it. But this look was something else. If this started to happen to me, I would just shave everything off.”

Vaibhav Tatwawadi as Akash Dixit

Vaibhav Tatwawadi

Vaibhav Tatwawadi plays the role of Akash Dixit, the savant confidant to Xerxes Desai. Helping him build the empire, he plays a steadfast counterpart to Sarbh’s character. Whether it’s getting through a financial crisis or finding investors before liberalisation, he provides the confidence and stability to focus on goals despite setbacks.Directed by Robbie Grewal, the other cast of the series includes Namita Dubey as Rajini Desai, Lakshvir Saran as Gaurav Dhar, Kaveri Seth as Megha Mhatre, Joy Sengutpa as SK Gopalan, and Ashwath Bhatt as Shankar Manoharan, among others.‘Made in India: A Titan Story’ is currently streaming on MX Player.
