Twitch streamer Josh “Ellum” has publicly addressed serious claims made by fellow creator Caroline “Captain Puffy” in a detailed written response, where he refuted the allegations made against him. Captain Puffy had previously released a lengthy document accusing his ex-boyfriend Ellum of cheating, emotional distress, and career exploitationIn his lengthy reply, Ellum took responsibility for not being a good and understanding boyfriend for Caroline, among other flaws that he admits were wrong. However, he denied ever manipulating or cheating on her during their tumultuous relationship. The streamer had nothing but high praise for his ex-girlfriend despite his failure to be the best man for her during their time together.

Ellum accepts personal fault while disputing cheating, financial abuse, and manipulation claims

In his response, Ellum began by taking responsibility for how he behaved during the relationship, admitting that his priorities were much more on his career than on his relationship with Caroline. He openly acknowledges emotional shortcomings, writing, “First of all, I want to acknowledge that I was selfish, stubborn, & a bad boyfriend. I unfortunately prioritized streaming over everything, including Cara.” About her allegations against him, Ellum clearly stated, “To be clear, I did not cheat on Cara, I did not manipulate her financially, and I did not abuse our dog Pudding.” However, he does concede that he crossed boundaries in other ways, including not respecting limits around female friendship and taking Captain Puffy’s financial generosity for granted. Ellum also expressed that he never forced Captain Puffy to be in any of his content, but he praised her for being a collaborative and supportive partner. He also admitted that he regrets not doing his best for their relationship while also being incredibly apologetic for hurting Caroline, even though he never intended to do so. Ellum also wrote that he felt a lot of mixed emotions when he first became aware of Caroline’s allegations. He has since reached out privately to apologize to her and insists that he is now a changed man. As of now, Caroline had not responded to Ellum’s latest statements.
