‘I heard you elected a king?’: Prince Harry takes a jibe at Trump on the ‘Late Show’ with Stephen Colbert

'I heard you elected a king?': Prince Harry takes a jibe at Trump on the 'Late Show' with Stephen Colbert

Prince Harry took a dig at US President Donald Trump while making an appearance on the “Late Show with Stephen Colbert” on Wednesday. The Duke of Sussex joined Colbert in New York City where he mocked Americans over their fascination with royalty and Christmas-themed films.“I genuinely thought this was the audition for the Gingerbread Prince saves Christmas in Nebraska,” Harry, being ginger, joked as he walked onto the stage. Harry said he had considered acting because he knew how “obsessed” Americans were with Christmas movies and royalty. Colbert challenged him, but Harry responded with a reference to Trump without naming him, according to the New York Post.“Really? I heard you elected a king,” Harry said as boos came from the audience. Colbert responded, “That’s a fair point, no, he’s got a point.” He continued the jibes at the US president while imagining how he would land a role in a movie. “I’ll record a self-tape, I’ll fly myself to an audition, settle a baseless lawsuit with the White House. All the things you people on TV do,” he said, referencing CBS’s $16 million settlement with Trump. CBS’s settlement with Trump was over his claim that the network and “60 Minutes” deceptively edited an interview with Kamala Harris during the 2024 election campaign. Colbert protested, “Hey, Harry, I didn’t do any of those things.” Harry replied, “Maybe that’s why you’re canceled.” The segment ended with Colbert and Harry in an awkward embrace as fake snow fell on the stage. The royal has been at odds with Trump over the past year. Earlier, Trump considered deporting Harry over immigration issues and later made jabs at him during a speech at Windsor Castle. Despite the tensions, Trump decided against taking action, saying, “I don’t want to do that. I’ll leave him alone. He’s got enough problems with his wife. She’s terrible.”
