How did South Carolina judge Diane Goodstein's beach house catch fire? Viral video shows waterbody nearby

South Carolina judge’s beach house could not be saved from the massive fire though there were plenty of waterbodies around.

The source of the massive fire that took down South Carolina judge Diane Goodstein’s $1.5 million beach house at Edisto Island remains a subject of investigation. Questions are being raised as to why the fire could not be brought down sooner before it engulfed the entire house, while there was water access nearby. The viral video of the house on fire was taken from across a waterbody. The judge blocked the Donald Trump administration’s move to get personal data of 3.3 million South Carolinian voters — to track illegal immigrants. The ruling was overturned later but the judge received threats because of her ruling. Elon Musk, Stephen Miller, and Harmeet Dhillon have come under fire for their constant criticism of liberal judges which, Democrats believe spurred MAGA activists to set the judge’s house on fire.

Difficult layout of beach house

Though it was a beach house and near to water, St. Paul’s Fire District described the challenge of tackling the fire and the rescue effort in a post on Facebook. “This area is located on a barrier island with significant challenges such as limited water supply and tight areas,” the statement said.“The first arriving crews worked flawlessly together to ensure the safety of the occupants which escaped via jumping from and elevated first floor. Due to the remoteness and layout of the lot, the occupants had to be rescued from the backyard via kayaks and brought to Colleton County EMS where they received medical aid,” it said.

4-bedroom, 4-bathroom house charred

Three people were hurt in the blaze and one of them was taken by helicopter to the Medical University of South Carolina. The house’s first floor is elevated from the ground and the injured had to jump to the ground. Drone photos taken over the scene olater showed only a few charred wooden supports standing amid the blackened rubble in the place of the lavish four-bedroom, four-bathroom house. The judge was not hurt as she was not there at the house but her husband former Democrat state senator Arnold Goodstein had many bones broken as he jumped from the inferno.
