'Deport': Indian-American Sohali Vaddula trolled after she says she voted for James Talarico in Texas Dem primary

Indian-American student and political leader Sohali Vaddula, who is also the national vice president of the College Democrats of America, faced deportation call and immense trolling after she posted a photo of mailing her ballot for the Texas primary election. “I mailed in my ballot last week from Rhode Island. So proud to be voting for @jamestalarico, my hometown rep!” Vaddula wrote. James Talarico won the Dem primary defeating Jasmine Crockett and will now go to the November election. “There is no Texan named Sohali Vaddula,” one wrote. “There is!” Vaddula replied. “An Indian voting in a Texas election from Rhode Island. Wonderful,” another troll posted. “You will never be Texan or American. your family didn’t contribute to the history of this country, you came in on a free ride and live your lives off taxpayer benefits,” a second posted.

Republican activist Bo French who is contesting for the Texas Railroad Commissioner called for Vaddula’s deportation. “This is the Republican Candidate for Railroad Commissioner btw. Sums up the current state of the Republican Party,” Vaddula replied. Vaddula is a 20-year-old Indian-American from Texas and a sophomore at Brown University studying international and public affairs. She holds leadership roles within the College Democrats of America, the official college outreach arm of the Democratic Party, including a seat on the Democratic National Committee’s College Democrats board and involvement with the Texas Democratic Party’s executive committee. Jasmine Crockett conceded to James Talarico in the Texas Democratic Senate primary Wednesday morning. “This morning I called James and congratulated him on becoming the Senate nominee. Texas is primed to turn blue and we must remain united because this is bigger than any one person. This is about the future of all 30 million Texans and getting America back on track. With the primary behind us, Democrats must rally around our nominees and win. I’m committed to doing my part and will continue working to elect democrats up and down the ballot,” Crockett said.
