'Bad Bunny hates US, skipped tour': MAGA lashes out at NFL, ICE says they will visit his show

Bad Bunny earlier said he would never perform in US mainland.

Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny was at the center of a major controversy after NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced Bad Bunny as 2026’s Super Bowl halftime performer. MAGA influencers called out Bad Bunny and said he hates US and everything that’s American, skipped his US tour, fearing ICE raid on his tour. Puerto Rico is US territory and Bad Bunny is a Puerto Rican-born US citizen and cannot be detained by ICE on citizenship. An adviser to Homeland Security claimed ICE agents may be dispatched to the Super Bowl during his performance. Bad Bunny (real name Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) is a Puerto Rican singer, rapper, and songwriter, widely regarded as one of the most influential Latin music artists of his generation. His achievements include multiple Grammy and Latin Grammy Awards; headlined Coachella 2023; first non-English-language artist to be Spotify’s most-streamed artist globally for three consecutive years (2020–2022).”Bad Bunny is a Trump hating anti – ICE activist who doesn’t even sing in English. He refused to tour America, bc he thought ICE might be outside one of his concerts. Hey @NFL your fans love God, Country & Football. Are you ready to Bud Light the Super Bowl… Who’s with me 👍” one posted.

‘I’m never performing in the US again’

Bad Bunny said he would not be performing in the US because he was scared that ICE might raid the venue putting his fans in danger. “Mainland America just doesn’t feel necessary to me anymore,” he said adding that he performed in the US several times and his fans got enough chance to enjoy his live shows. “I can’t in good conscience keep putting you at risk just to perform in mainland US,” he said adding that his music is about love and not fear.
