Donald Trump made a big claim amid the Middle East crisis, claiming that Iran is “about to surrender”. The US President said this during a virtual meeting with G7 leaders on Wednesday, as revealed by Axios, citing three officials from G7 countries.According to the report, Trump told allies during the Group of Seven call that he had “got rid of a cancer that was threatening us all,” while talking about the outcome of Operation “Epic Fury.”Trump also reportedly said that “nobody knows who is the leader, so there is no one that can announce surrender.”This revelations come as Trump on Friday lashed out at Iran’s leadership, calling them “deranged scumbags” and saying it was his “great honor” to kill them, as the conflict in the Middle East entered its second week with intense exchanges of drone and missile strikes across the region.

Referring to the American military’s massive operation against the Islamic Republic, he said Washington is carrying out strikes to “destroy the terrorist regime of Iran” militarily.Meanwhile, reports from the ongoing Middle East conflict suggest that Iran may have attempted to target the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN-72). Tehran has also claimed responsibility for downing another US jet during a refuelling mission, though Washington has described the incident as an accident. However, US central command (CENTCOM) asserted that, “The Abraham Lincoln Carrier Strike Group continues to support Operation Epic Fury and project power from the sea.”However, it did not give any details about the incident.
