‘Voting for DMK is voting for BJP’: Vijay accuses parties of having underground dealings at Namakkal rally; vows crackdown on kidney theft

'Voting for DMK is voting for BJP': Vijay accuses parties of having underground dealings at Namakkal rally; vows crackdown on kidney theft

NEW DELHI: Actor-politician and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam chief Vijay alleged that the “DMK family” has underground dealings with the BJP, suggesting that voting for the DMK is effectively voting for the BJP.”The AIADMK and BJP are in alliance, and people know they are fit for nothing. DMK has an underground deal with the BJP. If you vote for the DMK, it’s indirectly voting for the BJP. They may pretend they’re rivals, but you should keep in mind that they’re friends behind the scenes,” Vijay said at a rally. TVK leader Vijay conducted a campaign in Namakkal on Saturday, where thousands of supporters had gathered since the morning. Even five individuals fainted in the crowd because of the intense heat. They received first aid and were transported to the hospital by ambulance.Embarking on his campaign in the western Kongu region for the first time, he criticised the main opposition AIADMK’s alliance with the Saffron party as “inappropriate and opportunistic.” and reiterated that the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam would never compromise with the “fascist BJP regime. He attacked AIADMK for forgetting the ideals of the late party matriarch J Jayalalithaa despite often “chanting Amma’s name,” suggesting that AIADMK had formed an unsuitable alliance with the BJP claiming it was for Tamil Nadu’s welfare. He added that TVK would not replicate such a political stance. “What does the BJP govt has done for Tamil Nadu?” he asked.Vijay alleged that DMK looted TN and his party will face them in the 2026 Assembly elections. Addressing the rally, he announced that stringent measures will be implemented against individuals involved in kidney theft once the TVK government is established. He also said that the brutality of usury has driven people into such dire circumstances. Kidney theft has been perpetrated against impoverished power loom workers. This heinous act occurred in a hospital owned by a DMK MLA. He emphasized that kidney theft has transpired due to the DMK government’s failure to enhance the living conditions of weavers. With inputs from TNN
