Uttarakhand's Auli to host Skiing Winter Carnival and National Winter Games from February 13–16

The Auli Skiing Winter Carnival and National Winter Games Competition 2026 will be held from February 13 to 16 at Auli in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.The event will feature national-level competitions in alpine skiing, snowboarding and ski mountaineering, along with cultural programmes and adventure activities. Officials said the aim is to combine winter sports with local culture at the hill destination.The Uttarakhand Tourism Development Council held a review meeting to discuss the arrangements, safety measures, participant facilities and coordination between departments.The schedule includes participant registration and cultural programmes on February 13, followed by alpine skiing and snowboarding events on February 14 and 15. Ski mountaineering sprint events are also planned. The carnival will conclude on February 16 with a closing ceremony and prize distribution.The event will also showcase Garhwali and Kumaoni folk performances by local artists. Auli, located at an altitude of over 2,500 metres, has earlier hosted several national and international winter sports competitions.
