'Sweet’ response: Rahul offers candies to protesters waving black flags in Bihar- Watch

NEW DELHI: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi sweetened a sour protest when he pulled out candies for BJYM workers waving black flags at him in Bihar’s Arrah protest. While the Rae Barelli MP was doing ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra,’ he witnessed the black-flag protests in Arrah over his alleged remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother. Instead of saying anything, Rahul Gandhi took out the candies and showed the sweetest gesture in Bihar. Recently, a video of some men allegedly hurling abuses at PM Modi and his mother from the venue of Rahul Gandhi’s rally in Bihar went viral. The Bharatiya Janata Party slammed and condemned the “abusive” language used against PM. Union home minister Amit Shah sharpened his attack against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and demanded an apology. Not only BJP, but the parties allies and even Owaisi, who is a part of Opposition, slammed the Congress leader and the party for using such terms against PM Modi. But, Rahul Gandhi said that “truth and non-violence” will prevail over “falsehood and violence.”In a social media post on X, Rahul said, “Truth and non-violence prevail, falsehood and violence simply cannot endure. Strike and break as much as you wish to strike and break – we will continue to protect the truth and the constitution. Truth alone triumphs.”Meanwhile, during the Yatra in Ara, Gandhi on Saturday criticised the NDA government at the Centre for the ongoing special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Bihar, and accused the BJP, the RSS and the Election Commission of indulging in ‘vote chori’ in the country. Addressing a public rally, Gandhi claimed that the electoral roll revision was an “attack on the Constitution and the democratic system of the country”. “The BJP, the RSS and the EC are indulging in ‘vote chori’ (stealing of votes) in the country,” he alleged. The ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’ that started from Bihar will become a “country-wide movement against stealing of votes of people,” he said. “The NDA govt succeeded in stealing votes in Maharashtra and other parts of the country. But we will not allow the BJP and the EC to steal even a single vote in Bihar,” Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, claimed. “Voting is the right of Dalits, minorities and women, but the Narendra Modi govt steals votes to win polls,” he alleged.
