Poonch police announce Rs 5 lakh reward for info on terrorists' activities

JAMMU: Inviting public participation in anti-terror vigilance, police in J&K’s Poonch have announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh for anyone providing ‘credible, specific, and actionable’ information regarding the presence or movement of terrorists or their associates in any part of the district. The identity of informers would be kept secret to ensure their safety, police said.“People are urged to report anyone passing information regarding the movement of security forces, and facilitating finances, recruitment, networking, or coordination for terrorist activities,” said a press statement issued Monday.On Dec 31, 2023, police had announced cash rewards totaling up to Rs 12.5 lakh to citizens providing crucial information and intelligence regarding trans-border tunnel, drones and other activities of anti-national elements.Meanwhile, security has been tightened at Jammu railway station following the busting of a ‘white-collar’ terror module that triggered the Nov 10 blast in Delhi.
