NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday urged citizens not to panic over rumours of an LPG shortage amid tensions in the Middle East, saying India would overcome the situation just as it did during the Covid-19 pandemic. He also launched a sharp attack on the ruling DMK, accusing the party of corruption and promoting dynasty politics.Addressing a poll rally in Tiruchirappalli in poll-bound Tamil Nadu, PM Modi said the conflict had disrupted the global energy supply chain and appealed to citizens to rely only on verified information, news agency PTI reported.“Today, I would like to speak to the people of Tamil Nadu about the conflict in West Asia. It has affected the whole world’s energy supply chain.

We believe in the ideology of India first. There is no need to panic or pay attention to rumours. In any situation, we have seen how our government always puts interests of India above everything,” PM Modi said.“During Covid pandemic, 140 crore Indians showed the world how mature our nation is. I am confident that as a nation, we will navigate every situation successfully,” the PM added.Prime Minister Narendra Modi also launched a sharp attack on the ruling DMK government in Tamil Nadu, accusing it of corruption, dynasty politics and failing to fulfil promises made in 2021. “In DMK rule, everything starts and ends with one family,” he alleged, adding that “ministers may change, MLAs may change, but power remains only with one dynasty.”He further claimed that the party followed a “scientific corruption model”, saying, “Today, the same scientific graft model is used to make Tamil Nadu an ATM for one family.”Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister inaugurated projects worth Rs 5,650 crore and said they would create thousands of jobs for the youth in the state. He also highlighted infrastructure developments including airport facilities in Madurai and Tiruchirappalli.
