NEW DELHI: Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav, along with her party MPs, marched from Parliament to Jantar Mantar to join the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protest against the NEET paper leak and alleged irregularties in the education system.Carrying the ‘NEET hai, ki Cheat hai’ placard, Dimple Yadav said “we stand with the students”, adding that the “entire process is corrupt, and it is the country’s youth and students who are bearing the brunt of it and suffering immense mental stress”.”The situation across the country is such that the youth want to voice their concerns, yet the government refuses to listen or engage in dialogue. Students have repeatedly stated this, and Sonam Wangchuk has also urged the government to open a dialogue. However, the government is so rigid and callous that it refuses to heed anyone else’s views. As I have mentioned before, we stand with the students,” Dimple Yadav, who also happens to be wife of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav told news agnecy ANI. She further said: “Across the country, whether it concerns farmers, the environment, or the youth, everyone is distressed, yet this government is unwilling to listen to anything or address any grievances. Students simply want fair examinations; however, this government supports neither fair exams nor fair elections.”Akhilesh Yadav also accused the BJP-led government of ignoring students’ concerns and alleged that repeated paper leaks had taken place in Uttar Pradesh. “The students want the government to listen to them, but it is not ready to do so. Even when they try to come to Parliament, they are stopped through lathi-charge and other means. BJP leaders have not started deceiving people now; this has been happening for a long time. We conducted an audit in Uttar Pradesh and found that more than 20 examination papers had been leaked. No one was arrested because BJP people were involved. “”People are not getting government jobs because if they do, the government will have to provide reservations. If people get government jobs, they cannot loot public money. It is disheartening that protesters have been lathi-charged. Those members who wish to go to Jantar Mantar can go and convey the message that we stand with them,” he addedOpposition members were on their feet raising slogans in favour of the students protesting at Jantar Mantar and the subsequent police action against them.Earlier, after the papers were laid in the Upper House, leader of opposition Mallikarjun Kharge rose to speak on the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak issue, saying it concerned the future of lakhs of students.”Thousands of students have reached Jantar Mantar (where the protest is on), and they were lathi-charged,” he said.”The government is trying to beat them down and suppress the issue,” Kharge said, as Opposition members stood on their feet, shouting “shame, shame”. Meanwhile, Delhi Police used sticks and batons to disperse hundreds of students and youth activists marching from Mandi House Metro Station towards Jantar Mantar in an attempt to reach the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest site on Monday, eyewitnesses said.The protesters, including a large number of women, raised slogans against the Centre while proceeding towards Jantar Mantar. Heavy deployment of Delhi Police personnel was seen in the area as police sought to prevent the march from advancing.There was no immediate official statement from the police on the reported use of force or any detentions. A large number of protesters, who had gathered at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar on Monday, tried to organise their ‘Chalo Sansad’ march, demanding the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the alleged NEET paper leak issue. The situation turned tense as clashes broke out between police and demonstrators, with security personnel attempting to stop them from crossing barricades.The protest witnessed a heavy security presence, with Delhi Police putting up multiple layers of barricading across the New Delhi district to control the movement of protesters. According to police officials, the protesters gathered at the protest site as crowds continued to swell.Visuals from the spot showed hundreds of students and young protesters carrying flags and raising slogans. Many protesters were seen attempting to move beyond the barricades, following which police personnel repeatedly pushed them back to maintain order.Police personnel were deployed in large numbers at Jantar Mantar, with a riot control vehicle also entering the protest site early on Monday.
