CHANDIGARH/PANCHKULA: In ten years of Modi government, India has overcome security challenges that had persisted for decades, home minister Amit Shah said in Panchkula Wednesday after taking salute at what he described as the “largest police graduation ceremony in the country”.The Modi government “stands like a rock” with states in their fight against drugs and human trafficking, cybercrime, and organised crime, Shah said, urging the new recruits to be brand ambassadors of the campaign against drugs and other social evils.”Some years ago, there were three big law-and-order challenges in the country – left-wing extremism, terrorism in J&K, and armed outfits in the northeast. But after 10 years of Modi government, there is peace in these three areas, and the country is safe on these three fronts,” Shah said.”We have to move on while accepting new challenges and changes,” he said.Shah attended a string of events in Chandigarh and Panchkula – attending a Veer Bal Diwas to honour the martyrdom of Guru Gobind Singh’s sons, unveiling of a bronze statue of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and a cooperatives seminar.Without the supreme sacrifice of ‘Hind Ki Chadar’ Guru Teg Bahadur, “there wouldn’t have been any Hindus”, Shah said at a Veer Baal Diwas event in Chandigarh on Wednesday to honour the martyrdom of the four sons of Guru Gobind Singh.
