'Ji huzoor': Congress posts AI video to mock PM Modi over Trump's remarks; PIB fact checks

NEW DELHI: The Congress party on Wednesday posted an AI-generated satirical video showing US President Donald Trump giving instructions to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The video aimed to mock PM Modi’s claim of being a strong leader, suggesting he follows Trump’s lead. The video, shared on Congress’ official X handle, shows Trump speaking in accented Hindi and instructing Prime Minister Modi on Operation Sindoor and buying oil from Russia. PM Modi is seen responding with “Ji huzoor” (Yes, Sir) to each instruction. At the end, a voiceover says, “A scared prime minister can never do well for the country. He says he has 56 56-inch chest, but even then has no shame.”However, the Press Information Bureau (PIB) debunked the video, posting on X that, “An attempt is being made by some handles on social media to spread a false and negative narrative against Prime Minister by sharing an AI-generated video. The video attempts to portray that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working under pressure from US President Donald Trump. All these claims are fake.” Congress also criticized the government after Trump repeated his claim that India is “not going to buy much oil from Russia,” noting that this was the fourth time in six days that the US leader had announced India’s policy. The party added a dig at PM Modi, saying what he conceals, “Trump reveals.” Congress general secretary in-charge communications Jairam Ramesh said, “The PM has finally acknowledged publicly that President Trump called him up and that the two spoke to each other. But all that the PM has said is that the US President extended Diwali greetings. But while Mr Modi conceals, Mr Trump reveals.”
