AMBALA: A 13-year-old boy died as he drowned in Tangri river crossing area in Bhuni village of Naggal police station jurisdiction in Ambala district on Saturday.The deceased has been identified as Manvir, 13, Class VII student, of Ahru Khurd village of Patiala district, who along with four other boys entered the Tangri river crossing on the village road.Naggal SHO sub-inspector Karambir Singh said that out of five boys, three were washed away in the flow of water, two managed to somehow reach the shore while Manvir could not come out. He said SDRF team and divers were called to search for Manvir, but he could not be saved. He said Manvir’s body was found and would be handed over to the family members after conducting the procedure and post-mortem as per Section 174 of the CrPC.

Two labourers of brick kiln washed away, two narrowly escaped in Ambala village

In another incident in Ambala district, two labourers of a brick kiln were washed away in a rainy nullah in Dukheri village. As per the information, four persons including a driver and three labourers were on their way to deliver bricks in a tractor-trolley from Naraingarh’s Bakhtua village to Mohra village. On their way, they entered the rainy nullah which was flowing highly and got washed away with their tractor-trolley laden with bricks. The missing persons are identified as Mukesh of Mithapur village, who was driving the tractor-trolley and labourer, Ravi of Samalheri village of Ambala district.The police said out of four persons, two labourers had a narrow escape as they jumped when they felt the tractor-trolley was going to get washed away.One of the labourers, who had a narrow escape said, “We loaded 2,500 bricks from Bakhtua village in Naraingarh area. We thought that our vehicle was loaded and it would cross the rainy nullah, but when we entered the trolley suddenly lost balance with water flow and got washed away with the tractor.”Parao SHO said, “Efforts are on to search for the missing Mukesh and Ravi. Teams of SDRF and divers are searching the flowing nullah.”

Missing person found dead in Ambala

Anil Kumar, 50, of Ambala, who was missing for the last two days was found dead on the Tangri river bank in Mahesh Nagar area of Ambala Cantonment. Mahesh Nagar SHO Jitender Singh said, “We received information that a dead body was found on the Tangri river bank. We reached the spot and identified the person as Anil Kumar. His missing FIR was already lodged at Mahesh Nagar police station. The body has been kept at the hospital mortuary and would be handed over to the family after post-mortem.”
