Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) on Monday dismissed reports of any ‘major damage’ to a Tejas jet of the Indian Air Force (IAF), calling it a “minor technical incident on ground”. The statement comes after earlier media reports claimed that a Tejas light combat aircraft of IAF’s sustained major damage to its airframe after it overshot the runway at a frontline airbase following a suspected brake failure on February 7. The Union ministry of home affairs on Monday released India’s first comprehensive anti-terror policy, naming it “PRAHAAR”, and flagged threats ranging from cross-border terrorism and cyber-attacks to the misuse of drones and emerging technologies.
