Ahead of Congress leader DK Shivakumar’s oath-taking ceremony as Karnataka chief minister on Wednesday, the BJP launched a sharp attack on the Congress government through a series of posts on X, criticising and alleging failures in governance. In an AI-generated video shared late Tuesday night, BJP Karnataka depicted DK Shivakumar travelling in a SUV in waterlogged roads. In another post, BJP Karnataka accused the Congress government of neglecting farmers ahead of the monsoon season. The party alleged that the state government had failed to ensure the supply of adequate and quality seeds and fertilizers, while also not providing compensation to farmers who suffered crop losses due to rain.”The state Congress government has completely neglected farmers. It has utterly failed to provide adequate, quality seeds and fertilizers to the food providers preparing for the monsoon,” the BJP said, adding that farmers would continue to suffer until such a government was removed from power.“To Congress, farmers are mere trash; farmers will find no peace until a government with such a mindset is ousted,” it further reads. The BJP also targeted the Congress government over the welfare of Dalits, alleging that it had secured votes from the community but failed to address their concerns after coming to power.”It is the hallmark of this Congress government to come to power by securing Dalit votes, only to push the very same Dalit community into the most pitiable condition,” BJP Karnataka said, accusing the government of pursuing “anti-Dalit” policies and neglecting infrastructure and development in Dalit communities.
