CHANDIGARH/NEW DELHI: A political battle has erupted in Punjab over back-to-back blasts in Jalandhar and Amritsar, with BJP and SAD criticising state govt over law and order, and CM Bhagwant Mann accusing BJP of trying to create unrest “on the pattern of Bengal” to win 2027 polls. BJP turned to DGP Gaurav Yadav’s suggestion of Pakistani spy agency ISI’s involvement to cause disruptions on Operation Sindoor anniversary to assert the Aam Aadmi Party neta was making divisive statements . “It is such an insensitive statement,” BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said, highlighting the contradiction between Mann’s allegation and Yadav’s statement. BJP state chief Sunil Jakhar warned his party would pursue every legal recourse to get “an irresponsible Mann” removed. As Punjab woke up to news of the blasts, Mann said, “This is BJP’s style of working … to contest elections, they create riots, carry out small blasts, and divide peo- ple…” SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal called for Mann to resign, pointing there had been three blasts in 10 days
