AI giants make aggressive India pitches

MUMBAI: The India heads of AI world’s arch-rivals Anthropic and OpenAI took to the stage at the annual Tech Week here, pitching their suite of products to a room full of developers and founders.”What makes India really important in OpenAI’s journey is the opportunity centred around access, adoption and agency,” said Pragya Misra, OpenAI’s head of strategy and global affairs in India, adding that the firm will build on its capabilities here while lowering costs of usage to drive adoption.Anthropic, after its recent $65 billion funding, overtook OpenAI to become the most valuable AI startup. “We are creating things from India, for India…reaching last mile and making a test case for the rest of the world,” India MD Irina Ghose said.
