ubeen Garg’s untimely demise at the age of 51 has left everyone shocked and upset. The singer passed away after a scuba diving accident in Singapore, just a day before he was set to perform at the th North East India Festival. In the aftermath of the tragedy, heartbreaking visuals have emerged on the internet. They capture the raw grief of his wife, Garima Saikia Garg, and other family members, breaking down as they come to terms with the irreplaceable loss.

Adding to the poignancy, an X page shared moving clips of Zubeen’s pet dog, appearing visibly distressed and in tears, almost as if he’s mourning Zubeen’s loss. Meanwhile, Garima Saikia Garg, Zubeen’s wife, is herself a celebrated name in Assam. Known as a costume designer, film producer, and creative force, she has carved her own path in Assamese and regional cinema. Her work spans acclaimed projects such as Mission China (2017), Kanchanjangha (2019), and Sikaar (2024).Amidst this heartbreaking news, his event manager has dropped the first official statement after the incident. The statement read, “With profound grief, we share the heartbreaking news that our beloved icon, Zubeen Garg, passed away today at Singapore General Hospital around 2:30 PM. Zubeen had arrived in Singapore just the day before yesterday. He was scheduled to be with us at the festival tomorrow, meeting and interacting with people. Earlier today, our entire team was engaged in a business meeting with senior Singaporean industrialists and policymakers at the Shangri-La Hotel to facilitate investments in Northeast India.”As the singer passed away, many celebs have mourned his demise. In a heartfelt post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi expressed his grief and shock. He wrote, “Shocked by the sudden demise of popular singer Zubeen Garg. He will be remembered for his rich contribution to music. His renditions were very popular among people across all walks of life. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”
