Yash calls ‘Toxic’ a unique action spectacle, likens it to ‘Sinners’

Yash compares Geetu Mohandas' ‘Toxic’ to Ryan Coogler's ‘Sinners’: 'A unique, large-scale action experience'

Rocking Star Yash’s upcoming film ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ is poised to be a unique, large-scale action spectacle, drawing comparisons to Hollywood’s ‘Sinners’. Yash emphasizes its fresh, layered storytelling, exploring human dilemmas beyond a typical gangster narrative. With a prominent female cast, the film aims for global appeal, marking Yash’s return after a four-year hiatus.

Rocking Star Yash is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’. Recently, the Kannada star compared his film with Hollywood’s blockbuster ‘Sinners’, saying it a “unique and “large-scale action film” like the Michael B. Jordan starrer.

‘Toxic’ to have fresh storytelling on a global scale

While speaking with The Movie Report’s YouTube channel, Yash and filmmaker Namit Malhotra discussed their upcoming and massive projects. Yash said, “It is a unique, large-scale action film. It is something like Sinners, which was also unique and interesting and people accepted it and enjoyed it.” He wants people to feel the same freshness while watching ‘Toxic’.

This film is special because it comes after a long gap of four years since his last big film, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’. Further talking about the movie, Yash said, “Toxic is another unique film, and I think it also has a similar ambition [like Ramayana]. Both Namit and I have similar visions to showcase our talent and storytelling on an international platform, and Toxic also started with that intent.”

More than just a gangster film

Yash explained that this is not a normal gangster movie. He said it looks like a gangster film from the outside, but inside it is very different. He said, “On the surface, Toxic might look like a gangster film, but it is very layered. It is something where one understands a person’s dilemmas and dark side in a very unusual way. Most of the things are told through metaphors and that is what is unique about the story.” The story seems to portray emotions and inner struggles in a simple but deep way.

Cast of ‘Toxic’

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, the film has a dominant female cast including popular actresses like Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth, and Tara Sutaria in key roles. The film is set to release on June 4, 2026.
