Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar celebrate National Award win for ‘Article 370’: ‘This one’s for every dreamer’

One of Yami Gautam’s most loved films, ‘Article 370’ just landed a major win at the National Film Awards this year. Only hours ago, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting announced that Gautam had been given the award for Best Actress for her performance in the film, which elated many fans and netizens. The actress herself, along with her long-time partner and husband, Aditya Dhar, celebrated.

Taking to her Instagram account, the famed actress penned an emotional note about the film and how much the win means to her and the team behind ‘Article 370’. She wrote, “Every journey has a moment that reminds you why you never gave up. Today is that moment for me. Receiving the National Award for Article 370 is an honour I will cherish for the rest of my life.”Along with one of the official posters of the film, Gautam further commented on how amazing the award feels considering all the effort she has put into her career for the past 14 years. She added in the caption, “I have simply tried to stay true to my craft, work with honesty and let my performances speak for themselves. This honour feels like the culmination of a journey filled with hope, perseverance, resilience and an unwavering love for cinema. It is a dream I have carried in my heart for years and today, I receive it with immense gratitude and humility.” Talking about ‘Article 370’ and what it means to her, Gautam added, “Article 370 was never just another film for me. It was a story I deeply believed in. The fact that it was our home production makes this recognition even more emotional and personal. Every challenge, every conversation and every day on set was driven by one shared purpose, to tell this story with honesty and conviction.”

In her post, the actress continued to talk about how grateful she felt and how thankful she was for the support from the director, cast, crew and everyone else involved in the film’s making. She also thanked the National Award jury for presenting her with the award and for deeming her fit for the title of Best Actress for ‘Article 370’.She also mentioned all the people who viewed the film and gave their support, sharing that, “You reminded us that meaningful stories will always find their way to people’s hearts,” adding, “Your faith gave me the strength to keep moving forward, even when the destination seemed far away.”Yami concluded her heartfelt post, noting that this award has only added fuel to the fire and that she will continue to work hard in the future as well. She wrote, “This award is not the end of a dream; it is the beginning of a greater responsibility. To keep growing, to keep taking risks and to keep telling stories that matter. Dreams do come true but only when passion refuses to give up. This one’s for every dreamer who is still waiting for their moment. Never stop believing.”

Aditya Dhar also pens emotional note for big win at the National Film Awards

Yami Gautam’s husband, Aditya Dhar, best known for his work on ‘Dhurandhar’, was also involved with ‘Article 370’, which also landed the award for Best Feature Film at the award show on Saturday. He posted about the same and revisited the time that he and the entire team behind the film worked quite hard to make it the success it is today.He wrote in his post that, “When we set out to make this film, we weren’t chasing accolades. We were driven by a conviction to tell a story with honesty, courage and sincerity. To see that journey resonate with audiences across the country and now be recognised with the highest honour in Indian cinema, is truly overwhelming.” He also thanked everyone who worked on the film, including his partner, and shared that filmmakers have a great responsibility to tell stories that matter. He concluded his post with gratitude and wrote, “From the bottom of my heart… THANK YOU. This honour belongs to all of us.” ‘Article 370’ was released in 2024, and along with Yami Gautam in the lead role, the film also starred names like Priyamani, Raj Arjun, Shivam Khajuria, Vaibhav Tatwawadi, Arun Govil, Raj Zutshi, Divya Seth, and many others.
