When Twinkle said what she’d do if she dies and Akshay remarries

When Twinkle Khanna revealed what she would do if she dies first and Akshay Kumar remarries; his reaction was epic: 'I want to eat poisonous grass now...'

Twinkle Khanna is called ‘Mrs Funny Bones’ and rightly so because her wit and sense of humour can’t be missed. Twinkle who started out her career as an actress and then turned a writer, hasn’t been shy about even poking fun at herself and her movies like ‘Mela’. As she’s now turned host with her show ‘Two Much’ with Kajol, here’s recalling the time when Twinkle revealed what she would do if she dies first and husband Akshay Kumar marries again. Akshay and Twinkle serve couple goals, also because of this banter between them and here’s proof of that. In one of her columns for Times Of India, her topic was, ‘Haathi & Saathi: What animals can teach us about love, shuv, shaadi.’ In this blog, she recounted a touching story from a vacation with her husband. She wrote that during a nature tour, their guide spoke about a bird species known as Tik-Tik. According to him, these birds are deeply devoted to one another, so much so that when one dies, the surviving partner eats poisonous grass to follow its mate in death. This made Twinkle question Akshay what he would do if she dies before him. She wrote, “I told my husband (Akshay), ‘Acha (listen), if I die first, you better eat poisonous grass too. If I see your second wife walking around with my handbags, I promise I will come and haunt you both.'”She then even shared Akshay’s hilarious reaction on this. “He shook his head and replied, ‘I want to eat that poisonous grass right now, at least then I won’t have to listen to all this nonsense.’ Then he swatted a mosquito on my arm, the human equivalent of baboons delousing each other. We continued engaging in the complex choreography of cooperation, affection and mutual tolerance as our jeep raced against the setting sun,” described Twinkle. Akshay and Twinkle will be completing 25 years of marriage next year. They have two children – Aarav and Nitara.
