When Tabu revealed why she never worked with SRK

Happy Birthday Tabu! When the 'Crew' actress revealed why she never worked with Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan, the King of Romance, is known for creating magic with every co-star he works with. However, one pairing that fans have long wished to see on the big screen is SRK and Tabu. The two have shared frames, first in ‘Saathiya’ (2002) alongside Vivek Oberoi and Rani Mukerji, then in the hit song ‘Deewangi Deewangi’ from ‘Om Shanti Om’ (2007), and even a blink-and-miss cameo in ‘Main Hoon Na’ (2004). Despite these moments, Shah Rukh and Tabu have never done a full-fledged film together. So, as Tabu turns 54, just two days after SRK’s 60th birthday, let’s look back at why this much-awaited collaboration hasn’t happened yet.

When Tabu spoke about not working with SRK

About a year ago, in an interview with Galatta India, Tabu was asked why she has never done a full-fledged film with Shah Rukh Khan, she responded, “I am not a producer, I am not a director, I am not a scriptwriter, I am really not dictating who Shah Rukh Khan works with. Okay? And which films are going to be made and which films are going to be offered to me next. I can only say yes or no from what is offered to me.”“(There were films), I know what I have refused and I am sure he has also refused a few. Aisa kuch hua nahi ke our paths crossed. But I must respect the fact that a lot of people want to see me and Shah Rukh together, I will not discount all that, the actress added.”

What’s next for SRK and Tabu

Shah Rukh Khan and Tabu might just come together for a film in the near future. For now, The king khan is busy preparing for Siddharth Anand’s upcoming action film ‘King’, which also stars his daughter Suhana Khan, along with Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone. Meanwhile, Tabu will next be seen in Akshay Kumar’s horror comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’.
