When Sunidhi’s parents disowned her for marrying at 18

Sunidhi Chauhan was disowned by her parents at 18 for marrying Bobby Khan; faced financial struggles after divorce but bounced back stronger - Read more

Sunidhi Chauhan, one of India’s most powerful voices in music, faced a storm in her personal life even before her career truly took off. At just 18, she made a bold choice to marry choreographer Bobby Khan, defying her parents’ wishes. Her decision led to her being disowned by her family, marking a difficult chapter in her young life.

How the couple met during the song project

As mentioned by NDTV, their love story began while Sunidhi and Bobby were reportedly working on the song ‘Pehla Nasha’. They grew fond of each other, but both families did not approve of the relationship. The couple, determined to be together, married in 2002.

Sunidhi and Bobby parted ways within a year

Initially, things went smoothly, but religious differences soon caused a rift in their marriage. Media reports suggest that Bobby Khan listened to his family and ended the relationship. Within a year, Sunidhi and Bobby parted ways, and Sunidhi returned home to reconcile with her parents.

Anu Malik helped her regain stability

After her divorce in 2003, Sunidhi was left without money or a house as she was still struggling in her career. It was composer Anu Malik who stood by her during this tough time and helped her find her footing again.

Sunidhi found love again with Hitesh Sonik

Sunidhi gave love another try in 2012 when she married composer Hitesh Sonik after dating for over two years. The couple is blessed with a son, Tegh, bringing happiness and stability to her life.

How Sunidhi grew stronger from past challenges

In a past interview with Bollywood Bubble, the ace singer reflected on some of the most challenging moments of her life and shared how they helped her grow stronger than ever. She said, “I am only thankful to God for showing me, that too so early in life so much happened and it was all absolutely blissful. When I was in it, I was still having a good time because I knew I was in the wrong place. But I was enjoying that because I knew that wrong place was not going to be there for a longer time. I was going to get out of it. So, now that I am out of it, I have been out of it since many years, I don’t look back at that. But if at all, somebody speaks about it, then I am only looking at it as something that only helped me in turning into a better person.”
