When Rajesh Khanna once asked Govinda THIS question

When Rajesh Khanna once asked Govinda 'Why aren’t you where you deserve to be?’; the 'Dulhe Raja actor's reply will make you emotional

You can’t speak about 90s of Bollywood without the mention of Govinda. His films established the framework for comedy with a simple mindedness that became the definition of cinema. Every actor has their stories, and one of Govinda’s most substantial memories has to do with Rajesh Khanna, the first superstar of the industry. On the show ‘Two Much with Kajol & Twinkle’, Govinda and Chunky Panday reunited with Kajol and Twinkle Khanna as actors who bring back positive memories of the simpler days of the 90s. This recollected joy, is nearly hideous and brings not just entertainment value but nostalgia and joy back to the screen and the fans as the actors bring back lovely stories of the golden age of Bollywood – all while bringing joy and laughter back to the fans watching.

Govinda’s admiration for Rajesh Khanna

During the episode, Govinda expressed his deep admiration for the late superstar Rajesh Khanna. Speaking fondly, he said, “Twinkle, I must say this on your show, ki main aapke dad ka itna bada fan hoon, baap re baap, aap soch bhi nahi sakti. What a personality! Aisa hero na pehle kabhi dekha gaya aur na uske baad kabhi aisa khoobsurat hero aaya.” Agreeing to it Kajol added, “He was the first superstar of the industry, a super-duper superstar. ”

A heartfelt anecdote with Rajesh Khanna

Govinda also shared a touching memory of his conversation with Rajesh Khanna. He recalled, “He was a very lovely person. He once asked me, ‘Govind, why aren’t you where you deserve to be?’ I told him, ‘Sir, I think the Almighty has already decided everyone’s destiny. I’m happy with what I have. I’m running a home and I have a family.’ He smiled and asked, ‘Really? Are you happy?’” The story left everyone emotional, reflecting Govinda’s humble outlook on life and success.

Govinda making headlines

In terms of personal matters, Govinda and his wife Sunita Ahuja are once again under public scrutiny, as the divorce rumor mill continues to roll. Govinda and Sunita have been married for 37 years, with some reports earlier this year alleging that they have separated. Govinda and Sunita said they are still together, but they also acknowledged that they had been living separately for nearly 15 years.
