When Akshay Kumar spoke about extra-marital relationships: 'If you forgive your partner, you will come out as a winner'

A while ago, Akshay Kumar’s wife, Twinkle Khanna was in the news for her take on cheating in a relationship. On their show, ‘Two Much’, Twinkle and Kajol along with their guests, Janhvi Kapoor and Karan Johar opened up on physical infidelity. When asked which one is worse, Janhvi said that both forms of cheating are unacceptable and added that physical infidelity would be a deal breaker for her. Twinkle, however, responded more casually, saying, “Raat gayi baat gayi.While the actress faced criticism from the internet as users felt it was a very casual attitude towards cheating in relationships, even Akshay Kumar had once shared his take on it. While he was promoting his movie ‘Rustom’ in 2016, the actor spoke about extra-marital relationships. During the film’s promotional campaign, Akshay was asked about the theme of infidelity, which plays a significant role in the movie’s plot. Speaking to Rediff, he explained why he believes forgiveness may be the stronger response in some situations. Akshay said while reflecting on this sensitive subject, “It is better to forgive in a relationship because you have invested so much time in it. And there are kids involved. If you forgive your partner, you will come out as a winner.” For those not in the know, in the film Akshay’s wife played by Ileana D’cruz was shown cheating on him. Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna are often regarded as one of the most loved couples in Bollywood. Fans love them every time they make an appearance together and even their love-filled banter on social media. The two married in 2001 and share two children, son Aarav and daughter Nitara.
