What will be Vijay’s title card for ‘Jana Nayagan’?

‘Chief Minister’ or ‘Thalapathy’? What will be Vijay's title card for 'Jana Nayagan'; Know here

Actor-turned-politician Vijay’s final film before entering full-time politics, ‘Jana Nayagan’, continues to face release delays. The film was earlier expected to release during the Pongal season in January, but the plan was postponed after the movie reportedly did not receive censor clearance on time. Since then, several issues have slowed down the release process, keeping fans waiting for an official update from the makers. The situation became more serious after parts of the film were allegedly leaked online in April, creating shock within the film industry and among Vijay fans.

Vijay reportedly prefers the ‘Thalapathy’ title over the ‘Chief Minister’ card

As discussions about the film’s release continue, another interesting update has now grabbed attention online. According to reports by Valaipechu, Vijay has reportedly requested the makers not to use the “Chief Minister” title card in the film. Instead, he is said to have asked them to continue using his popular screen title “Thalapathy.” The reported decision is now being widely discussed by fans and cinema circles, as many see it as Vijay’s clear intention to keep his political life and cinema identity separate. Even after becoming the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Vijay reportedly wants his final film appearance to remain connected to the image that audiences celebrated for years on screen.

Fans discuss Vijay’s decision and political approach

After these developments, there has been no shortage of responses from Vijay’s fans on social media. While many of his fans were happy about this and mentioned that it is because of his well-balanced attitude toward politics and films, some have welcomed the change as they believe “Thalapathy” makes more sense than “Chief Minister.” Others pointed out that Vijay has always maintained a strong emotional connection with fans through the “Thalapathy” title, making it a more suitable choice for his final movie appearance. The discussions have once again increased curiosity around ‘Jana Nayagan’ and its eventual release.

Producer gives update on censor and release plans

Meanwhile, producer Venkat Narayana recently addressed the media regarding the delay during Vijay’s oath-taking ceremony. He said the film is still waiting for censor certification and that the team is hopeful about releasing it soon after the approval process is completed. He also mentioned that changes to the title card could be considered if legally permitted. Even with the delay and uncertainty, excitement around ‘Jana Nayagan’ remains high because it marks Vijay’s final film before focusing completely on his political journey. Fans are now eagerly waiting for both the censor update and the official release announcement.
